JOHN BROWNLIE ACTING REEL
JOHN BROWNLIE, British actor, trained in the UK. Participated in local theatres, attended classes, performed and worked backstage. John attended a performing arts school and then university, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Acting. Brownlie devised, wrote, directed, and performed in several productions. This led to him forming Daft Mattress and touring the UK with several serio-comedic works.
Arriving with his wife in Taiwan 2013, John became a long-standing member at the Lab Space, where he continued to develop his skills. In 2019 he founded Taipei Shorts, working with expats and Taiwanese to create a bilingual theatre company producing over 20 unique short plays.
Since moving to the US in 2022, he continues to develop his craft with the Meisner technique, and has been involved in theatre productions with the Studio Theatre Worcester, Mass Arts, NERC, HCE Players and also collaborating with several independent filmmakers across New England.
